Gremo’s (= cliff), built with stones circa 1900, was named after its location. A picturesque two-leveled tiled-roof house. Situated at the edge of the village of Koskinou, it has a breathtaking view of a green valley. It is an ideal place to enjoy sunsets. Its main salla (containing two pataro’s used for sleeping) is separated from its bedrooms by a small court yard. All its internal structures are made of hand crafted wood. Wherever possible, traditional material and ways of building were used; an exception to that are its modern electric wiring, kitchen and bathroom water connections, and sewage.
Kitchen: Located on the ground floor within the main salla.
1st bathroom: Shower, WC. Located on the ground floor, accessed from the court yard.
2nd bathroom: Basin, shower, WC. Located on the ground floor, within the main salla.
3rd bathroom: Basin, shower, WC. Has a wooden beamed ceiling. Located on the upper level of the main salla.
Main salla: A harmonious combination of traditional village architecture on the one hand, and practical utilization of limited space, on the other. Has a ground floor area of 40 square meters, plus an upper level of 25 square meters. It is overlooked by a 6 meter (19 feet) high attic-style wooden ceiling. Well-positioned windows ensure that a constant breeze flows through it.
Its ground level consists of the kitchen, a bathroom (see 2nd bathroom above), the living room, a dining area, and fire place. An 18th century wooden staircase leads to its upper level.
Its upper level consists of one bathroom (see 3rd bathroom above), and two pataro’s (= wooden traditional Koskinou platform bed), sleeping two persons each.
1st bedroom: One traditionally-structured double bed, which, if requested, can be converted into a spacious writing desk. Has a wooden beamed ceiling. Very cool throughout summer. Located on the ground floor, it is accessed from the court yard. Has a floor area of 10 square meters.
2nd bedroom: One traditionally-structured double bed, which, if requested, can be converted into a spacious writing desk. Has a wooden beamed ceiling. Very cool throughout summer. Located on the first floor; it is built on top of the 1st bedroom. It is accessed from the court yard, via a small staircase. Its floor is at the same level with the terrace. Has a floor area of 10 square meters.
Court Yard: With a floor covered with traditional Lardos stones, it is the crossroad of the house. Invigorating, with a nice view of the valley, which can be enjoyed from the main entrance of the house. Despite its small size of 10 square meters, it is a very popular area to spend time. Used for having breakfast, coffee, dinner, or for just reading. An old-fashioned basin can be found here.
Terrace: A wooden construction of 6 square meters, covering the court yard. Accessed from the court yard, via a small staircase, it is placed directly across the entrance door of the 2nd bedroom. It offers the best view of the valley from the house.
